I mean, it's text. There's no way to "talk over" anyone. I don't think it's anybody's place to shut other people up. As long as it's clear it's not a trans person's opinion or the OP is specifically asking for a trans person's opinion, I don't see why it's wrong that anyone contribute their opinion/answer to the matter. It's important that we all understand these types of things, and if you remain silent there's no way to test your knowledge -- respectfully of course. We should make use of these spaces to have open discussions and learn. There are enough places in the world were these matters are censured and limited, and opportunities to discuss them don't exist. I've been on this sub for years and trans people's opinions are valued here, specially when discussing trans matters. Just my take. Could I ask what triggered you to post this? Perhaps an example of why it's bad could make a better point.
