A combination of my dad fucking me over, my ignorance and my location.

He got the car, once I moved away I bought it from him. Only issue was, he’s an extreme cheapskate. He doesn’t do maintenance on his cars until they’re practically falling apart. He was the one who fucked up the fluid tank and “fixed “ it with duck tape. He literally never aligned the tires on the car to save a penny. He put off buying new tires when he knew it was time.

My ignorance because I didn’t know jack shit about cars and I relied on him to tell me when to change shit. He was “taking tabs” which he did tell me about the oil change but everything other than that nope. He confessed about the fluid tank/tires/alignment once I called him to complain . Didn’t even know until I took it to the mechanic.
