You can go to the gym twice a week and see results, here’s proof:

Bodybuilding.com is indeed a great resource.

Yes, you’re right, you need 72 hours of rest between workouts for a particular muscle group to allow appropriate recovery.

The thing is, I personally won’t see progress doing a full body workout twice a week because I’m not hitting each muscle group hard enough. It takes me roughly 10 min per exercise. Not wanting to exceed 90 min for a workout, that would put me at 9 exercises max. That’s not enough to exhaust my whole upper body, core, and legs. I’m honestly curious how you manage to do a full body workout every time.

I can confirm that I did that for about 6 months when I first started at 18, but soon afterward I got a personal trainer who taught me the benefit of targeting certain muscles in each workout, and that’s when the serious gains really started.

And as you mentioned, it may be a newbie gains kind of thing. Doing something is always better than doing nothing. But be open to the idea that if you want to keep making progress, you’re going to have to change things up a bit and the full body sessions may not cut it anymore. Best of luck to you on your journey!
