Can I help you?

I usually move away if it's safe for me to do so. Sometimes its risky considering there's a parallel car that might turn at the same time to the middle lane.

One time had the same situstion of huge brand new Lexus LX with abudhabi 4 digit number tailgating me on Dubai bypass road.

I was willing to move away from express lane considering I'm at the max speed limit (140km/h) but I quickly cancelled my attempt when I saw the 3rd lane car waiting for me to move to the middle lane.

The local got mad. Ignored he could overtake me from the right hand side lane (6 lane road). All sort of flashing and horns.

Then he overtook me and slammed his brakes from 140 down to 80.

Not only that. But he kept slowing until I compeltly stopped to the road's shoulder.

Since then I have a dash cam. Caught lots of crazy locals doing the same on tape.

Its just there's something about 'I own the road. My road my rules'.

Just be polite and let me switch to the other lane. There's no need to endanger my life by leaving 5 inch gap between your front and my rear bumper.

Tailgating me would result in me ignoring you. As now I have a rear dash cam and got way too much free time to go to the nearest police station with the dash cam to file complaint (done it before, the guy got fined like 400, 1000 dirhams & some black points). Also the traffic officer mentioned that I can do civil case against the guy for engangering my life and "planting fear into your heart [sic].

If they have any emergency it well known. Flasher 4 signals and go fast any judge can throw away speeding tickets if you provide a proof in regards to emergency like an injured child or old person being rushed to ER.

But that's not the case when most locals like today's evening are out on the road driving their older sister Mercedes recklessly.
