Can We Just Let Recreational Drugs Be Recreational Drugs?

I'm not a doctor, nor am I a researcher, but I have used plenty of psychedelics.

That's the point. You can't expect therapeutic results from psychedelics by just tripping by yourself. Do you think recreational drugs should be reserved for recreation? What about xanax? It's actually prescribed to people who have fucking problems with anxiety. Imagine if it was discovered the other way around, first as a recreational drug then a medicinal? What about ADHD? At first it was just a drug they used to keep people awake and stimulated, or recreational, then it was prescribed to people with ADHD and eating problems.

I'm happy that you're willing to admit you're uneducated about the subject, because you really are. Just because you tripped on psychedelics doesn't mean you're educated. What's the primary function of psilocybin? In what role does it play in psilocin? What's the psychological differences between L.S.D and 4-HO-DMT? What's MDMA's primary mechanism of action?

Just because you've taken these drugs doesn't make you a fucking expert on them.

I have been around them enough to realize that these drugs create thoughts that cease to exist outside of your trip. That's why we take them again. and again.

After 3 sessions extended to 6 months (regular checkup period for any drug use) to help people quit smoking.

You're saying it's bad that we need to take them again and again? People spend years on nicotine patches. People spend years on ADHD medications. Why? It's better than the alternative. It's better for people to take LSD in therapeutic environments to avoid being depressed and killing themselves. It's better for people to take ADHD medications so their brain develops normally. It's better for people to take xanax so they're not constantly on the edge.

It's the fact that it's better than current medications out there. The leading brand in helping people quit smoking only has a success rate of 35% after using their medication for months (thousands of dollars) than just taking shrooms or ibogane. It's the fact that LSD is shown to be more effective than typical therapy in helping people with anxiety. It's the fact that more people are killing themselves because of PTSD than actual combat deaths during times of war is the reason why these drugs need to be looked into. 83% people who take MDMA in a therapeutic environment 3 times show reduced anxiety months later.

You expect that if these drugs became medicinally used it'd be like weed. No, it won't. There's drugs out there that are already easy to get recreationally and turning it medicinally won't make a difference, morphine comes to mind. If you think recreational drugs should just stay recreational then let's get rid of the medicinal values for adderall (for adhd), xanax(anxiety), GHB(narcolepsy), it goes on and on.

We literally know nothing about these drugs. We don't know how LSD really works, nor magic mushrooms. But they show promise.

So do some fucking research.
