Can you lose fat and simultaneously tone your body?

Absolutely. You can gain muscle even at a caloric deficit. All you need to build muscle is water, protein and energy. You may be at a caloric deficit but your body can use your body fat as energy to fuel your daily activities and your body's mucle building process.

It's easier to build muscle at a caloric surplus because the energy from food is more accessible, but you can build a decent amount of muscle at a deficit.

Just make sure to drink plenty of water, eat enough protein, get plenty of good quality sleep and, of course, progressive overload! Good luck with your journey my man, weight lifting is such an enjoyable hobby, especially since beginners see results quickly.
