Can I lose fat without restricting my diet (within reason)? I'm 6'3" ~240lbs

Set a low calorie limit, like 1500 per day. You'll rotate your days between days you can basically do anything, and days you need to be a little careful. This helps with the self control.

So on even days, you'll do some exercise. A really hard amount of exercise. 60 minutes high intensity cardio, burn 600-700 calories. Then, you can add 500 calories to your food that day, which is plenty, you have a 2000 calorie day. Eat a smart one or lean cuisine for lunch too, that holds you over for the middle of the day and keeps your calories low. So on these even days, the exercise days, you can eat pretty much whatever you want as long as you are sure you're not going over your limit. Like tonight I had a ribeye (8oz) and veggies, then 2 glasses of whisky while I watched some TV. It was great, no restriction, but my net calories are 1500.

Odd days, you dont exercise on these days because you need to recover a bit from the previous day. But since you arent exercising you need to watch your food intake. Oatmeal or a couple of eggs and some fruit or something for breakfast, smart one or lean cuisine frozen food for lunch, and then you have like 800 calories to work with for dinner, which is like almost any dinner you could want (if you dont eat out). So sometimes odd days are hard, but just be strong with yourself and its fine, tomorrow you get to work out...tomorrow you get to eat what you want b/c its an exercise day.

In the end, every day is a 1500 calorie day. The rotation makes it feel like it doesn't suck and you arent restricting yourself, and the numbers all line up. Since I've been doing this my weight has gone down or stayed the same literally for over a month. It's surprisingly easy to keep this up. Hope it helps you.
