Can my supervision tell me I can’t do something outside of work when it’s not HRA

I had something similar with a former troop of mine who rode motorcycles and was accident prone on them. He had a valid motorcycle license and met all of the safety criteria outlined by the Wing. He had about three accidents before the fourth one ended his riding days for good but after the second one the question was raised if we could prevent him from riding his motorcycle. The answer from legal was so long as the state didn't take his license and he attended the motorcycle safety course there was nothing we could do.

So we didn't do shit and he eventually eliminated himself from participating in motorcycle riding. Sounds like your leadership doesn't have a leg to stand on so long as you are following all base regulations for the activity and are using proper PPE.
