Can you play mill in multiplayer EDH?

I definitely agree with the sentiment of most of the people commenting that Phenax is probably the strongest mill commander. However, I have to give a shout out to my boy Wrexial, the Risen Deep. I've been piloting this deck for a while now, and it usually performs quite well. I've got a few thoughts for you.

I think that, in a format as big and ridiculous as EDH, mill should be seen as a means to an end, not the end itself. As such, black is obviously great at reanimating dudes, and Wrexy (and certain blue cards) also lets you "reanimate" their instants and sorceries. My Wrexial deck is not geared towards decking all of my opponents completely, and I don't think a multiplayer EDH deck should be. I would advise you to use mill as a way to put their good stuff in the graveyard, then use your cards to steal theirs. And here's the best part: the more players there are in the game, the more graveyards you'll have to steal stuff from!

For multiplayer specifically, I have to shoutout some of the best pure mill cards in the deck: [[Mind Grind]] and [[Consuming Aberration]]. Consuming Aberration gets stupid big in multiplayer and also mills. And a late game Mind Grind actually does have a good chance of milling one of your opponents, especially anyone running green and/or a lot of ramp. But the important thing is that they hit all opponents, which is fantastic.

I also need to give a shoutout to [[Sepulchral Primordial]]. If you're milling everybody (and killing their stuff, and letting your opponents kill each others' stuff, etc.) you are guaranteed to completely flip the board in your favor with this guy. And cards like him are obviously even better in multiplayer than they are in 1-v-1 since you take a guy out of every graveyard (except your own).

So, in short, I would say mill is good if you're planning on doing something with it. Milling for the sake of milling won't improve your board state or worsen your opponents, so use mill to reanimate stuff and pull of wacky shenanigans. And have fun!
