Didn't get woken up, but as I said before my girlfriend almost crashed her car on the highway. A little more serious than getting woken up. That's a great reason to not send extraneous alerts.

The alerts are sent before the child is found, its an inefficiency of the phone carrier that delays it. Sure we can improve the telecommunication network system of distribution but thats not what people are arguing for

That's what many people (myself included) are here to discuss. It's also an inefficiency of the app used - people gets their Facebook notifications and SMS on time. I want Amber Alerts, just better ones.

There's a ton of data showing distractions cause car accidents. Different things are distracting to different people even if it's hard for you to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

There's a ton of data showing sleep deprivation causes car accidents, impairs pilots flying planes and people operating heavy machinery.

There's a ton of data showing sudden blaring loud noises trigger epileptic fits and other health issues.
