This isn’t anything new. People have been talking (and joking about) “getting v&” (getting v& means an unmarked federal van shows up to your house and BTFOs you) in conspiracy circles. It usually only ever gets brought up if someone is talking about some really high level shit (think making/sharing observations and connections involving black budget projects eg.). I have had the “party van” show up at my house before when I was 15 to have a “talk” to me (I had come into contact with someone on an obscure forum who said they were a gov insider who wanted to leak. I gave them the details and told them how to maintain OPSEC if they are going to leak to Wikileaks.) it seems this time the Feds are arresting people because they have hard evidence proving the rioters have broken federal law (NGL, the rioters were probably COINTELPRO’d so the Feds probably have 10000000mil screenshots, audio recordings, video recordings of the people they are arresting A-talking about breaking the law & B- breaking the law).
