Can this please be a thing?

I have the exact opposite reaction. I like games, theyre my thing, my jam, my hobby, my bread and butter.

I try to minimize unnecessary, tedious, or bothersome tasks as much as possible so that I have more time to do the things I actually want to do like play games. Such tasks are include but are not limited to: eating, working, commuting, buying groceries, running errands, household chores, etc.

That is not to say I neglect them, not at all. Rather, I group together all the tedious shit into 1 or 2 time slots, and get them all done at once. I dont do dishes every day, I do them every third or fourth day. Instead of commuting to work and wasting literally 2-3 extra hours of every day waking up earlier and traveling, I can fortunately work remotely.

When it comes to cleaning, its almost effortless to just not leave a mess. Shoes off at the door, quickly wipe up a spilled thing, etc. I order all my groceries online once a month and they get delivered in an hour block of my choosing, which coincides with other tasks, and it only costs like 10 bucks plus tip.

The only times I even have to leave the house are to drop off packages or whatnot at the post office, see my doctor, or get painting supplies, absolutely nothing beyond that as there's no need to.

The massive amounts of time that I've saved just by working smarter not harder, and focusing on what I want, is amazing.

Its not that easy for everyone understably, but a lot of people are wasting time they'd rather have for fun things, needlessly. You don't have to go to the store every week, or buy clothes every week, or cook a 3 course meal 3 times a day, or meticulously clean your house if you just helped it not get dirty in the first place.

Make more time for yourself and the things you like, even little changes make a difference in the long run.

As a last little note, if you (random reader of this comment) aren't sure if you want kids or not, just wait, they're not going anywhere. Deciding not to have kids definitely helps the whole "take care of yourself and live your life to the fullest" kind of thing, but you can always wait a year or 2, and maybe you'll feel better when you can do more of the things you enjoy, much more often.

So in summary, cut down time from spreading out tasks or doing needless ones, and better allocate that time to make yourself happier, if you can :)
