Can we praise the storytelling here? Leon feels like a genuinely developed character in RE4 Remake.

There are some instances of vulnerability in Leon's character, but I feel they're few and far between. There are many ways that you can manifest vulnerability in a fictional character, I feel external conflicts where situations creat the need for characters to confront their weaknesses, fears or vulnerabilities is a great way. Unfortunately, this game doesn't explore any of these traits enough for him to be fleshed out.

Gameplay especially is under-utilised in terms of developing Leon as a character. I mean, you have free reign to implement as much dialogue as you want, allowing for him as a character to be explored but we don't get any of it.

Leon is supposed to be the "quiet type" but that doesn't really mean we don't get to explore him as a character.
