Police are godawful at dealing with domestic violence.
When I was a kid growing up in the states my parents always screaming, someone would call the police.
I would climb this huge tree we had in our backyard just to hide - we lived on a main street, our community was close and squad cars would show up and light up the block - so embarrassing.
But I will never forget the first time, they wanted to make an arrest so they tracked me down in my tree. I refused to come down.... After this fucker wouldn't go away I finally caved and when I got within reaching distance he yanked me out of the tree - which my Dad saw and went off on the cops.
So much so they didn't need me anymore, they arrested him. And thus began a lifetime of hatred for cops - every single run in "you know you could make it a lot easier if you cooperate" I would just smile and shake my head.
I come out here, my aunt is a crazy person, she used to go nuts of my cousins. Surprise suprise, one of them has serious problems. Suprise, suprise the police have him in some registry for crazy people. Thanks officers of the world.
I find it hilarious that that stupid post the yesterday was glowing about finding a bike. And today we got child abuse/domestic violence - police have been so obviously unqualified for domestic violence and zero has changed, fuck that.
Yea good job, found a bicycle; "I'm going to be a good officer and fix this chain... What's that? Oh them again, yea just tell them to turn up the TV and I'm on my way"

"can't you see I'm busy? I still have to fill the tires, replace the bell, and I have to get some stationary and a bow, I'm booked".
This is why I never have and never will call the cops for anything. If I lose my wallet I will hit the Koban but that's literally it and they're just the middleman for the good citizens that take the time to help someone get their things back.
Having grown up with domestic violence, having to run first from my father than from the cops, I loathe domestic violence. Defund the fucking police and get people qualified to mediate domestic violence. This way is not working - God dammit it pisses me off. These experiences stay with you forever.
In the states they want to make an arrest, in Japan they don't want to get involved; try something new for fucks sake.
