Can somebody explain the energy competition stuff the past few year? I feel like I've been getting scammed.

I contacted them via their chat support a few minutes ago and it turns out that I don't even have an account with them. Yet it's still on my bill. My opt-out went through, but I've still been charged a ComEd delivery charge/Constellation supply charge in the months that my service with them has been canceled. I apparently did get out before the cut-off date, but something never took effect properly until I contacted them today.

Also, Constellation doesn't adequately address the monopoly issue. Competition would mean bringing things like ComEd and Ameren into the same areas and giving people an effective choice, the same way in certain buildings you can chose between RCN/Comcast/AT&T. ComEd and Constellation are both owned by Exelon. Constellation is simply a vanity corporation that sits on top of ComEd. They can offer a cheaper price in the short term, but not the long term because any price changes by ComEd are still ultimately passed on to you by Constellation eventually (future rate hikes or such). There's not really a viable way for that to be cheaper in the long-term and it's not true competition. It's simply masquerading as competition and is definitely more of a scam than ComEd alone.

On top of that, their business practices are definitely questionable. Look up all of their RipOff Reports and BBB reports. Their sales reps are predatory/will outright lie to you. Their mail notices are designed to be misleading/leave out information which you are required to seek out. And honestly, I see the opt-out provision in our state's aggregation law as nearly as dubious as the parking meter deal, pension mismanagement, etc.
