Can someone explain this Trump attempted coup stuff?

Great insight, brother. Time will tell but this saga appears to be giving the Republican party yet another weapon to enact their anti-democratic strategy to grab and maintain power. Trump's biggest weakness was his ego. He surrounded himself with moronic sycophants rather than strong strategic thinkers. We were (or maybe aren't quite out of the woods yet) one blunder away from a coup. And now the Republicans know just how close they were able to get. It's silly not to think they won't try again, and with a better cast. I saw a study that 70% of Republicans believe the election had issues. Anecdotally, even my parents (moderates; voted for Obama) think so.
