I can’t moderate.

Well, Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who couldn't moderate!

I was a drunk just about all day every day type alcoholic, but I'd wild ass guess that about 25% of our members came in due to periodic binge drinking issues like you're describing.

I really think you could benefit from reading/studying A.A. material like the "Big Book" (https://www.aa.org/the-big-book), joining some A.A. meetings to listen to the stories of how we had similar problems with drink and how we recovered and/or just listening to such stories on speaker recordings at places like https://www.xa-speakers.org/ or https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=aa+speakers or https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=aa+speakers+funny and the like. There are also dozens of little introductory pamphlets to be found at many meetings or regional A.A. offices that could be of interest.

We have a lot of collective experience in thousands/millions of A.A. members and it's a great resource.

Best wishes!
