Can we talk about depression during pregnancy?

I'm pretty much the exact same as you. I will say that I found it funny how every friend I had who have children currently had such a "wonderful time" being pregnant and "loved it" yet somehow changed that tune when I voiced my own hormonal issues with this. "Oh, I hated pregnancy!" "Did you really? Funny how you hid it so well." .. This leads me to believe that what we're going through is quite normal. Perhaps society has made things to where we look terrible if we don't become elated all of a sudden. It would certainly explain the hidden emotions by so many who struggle. Of course you can talk to a therapist and do the things others have posted but honestly, maybe some women (a whole bunch of us) just hate pregnancy itself. Maybe we want a fast forward button to see our little beans and go back to our normal selves?! Some voice it more than others and I commend you for posting this. Once the baby is here, whose to say you won't love every second?! Whose also to say that we're supposed to be ecstatic during these 9 months of absolute chaos?! :) this is real pregnancy. It's lovely to see real emotions and not generic, "I'm so excited that I could burst!" ...... No.
