Can I go to Tiffany’s on 5th and ask for ring sizing without buying anything?

it is all good. It was uncomfortable, but not the worst thing.

My niece wanted something from Tiffany and tbh, I was against anything from there because you pay for the name.

imo, if you’re not 100% set on buying from Tiffany, I would try on rings at smaller box stores. They have more styles and selections generally and I find competition between staff to be less palpable. iirc, Tiffany has their solitaire, halo, and double halo. I am not even sure if they carry the rubies, emeralds and sapphires in certain stores. I don’t think they carry trilogy rings.

it is true that anyone is a potential customer, but staff “know” who is really set on buying. I used to work at mall jewelry for the summer when I was much much younger as a sales associate and we always knew.

It doesn’t make it right to treat people less for not buying, but there’s definitely an undercurrent as to, “why are you wasting my time if not even half serious”.

Tiffany isn’t all bad when they know you’re dropping actual money. I have a friend who bought his wife’s ering from Tiffany and it was 5-star treatment from start to finish.
