as well as not nest in the shadow of somebody who'd crush you as soon as they'd look at you.

Just yesterday the tribe I played with set up a stones throw from the mega tribe of the server. That's fine. Then the first thing they did was tame a t rex and allosaurus, and some other crap. All defending our wooden base. If we at least rushed turrets we wouldn't have been taken out by rocket spam so easily. We couldn't even mount the rex.

If we Set up deeper in the jungles instead of the edge of the northern coast, we might have been able to stuff five argys in a small base AND get turrets up AND then tame strong dinos.

Of course, if people were smart, all the little 2 man tribes that got shat on by the alphas would have just teamed up to destroy them, shooting rockets into a mega base is a lot easier than defending from rockets. But nobody wants to do that, for some reason.
