I understand what you are saying. I guess my point is that we don't know what anyone else has gone through. Maybe that girl lying about being on birth control has really fucked him up. Maybe that guy slipping a condom on and causing a really bad reaction has eroded her trust for the foreseeable future keeping her from having good relationships.

Rape takes a lot of forms, and that includes lots that aren't violent. My experience with rape was particularly difficult for me in part because it wasn't violent. If it had been I would have probably realized how fucked up it was much earlier, which would have likely impacted my psychological development significantly. Despite any physical violence, I was definitely raped. I'm honestly sorry you have suffered, and doubly sorry if my comments feel less than friendly or insensitive.
