Can a zen master be a criminal in society ?

I consider causing intentional suffering toward another animal, without their consent, to be a criminal act against the universal code of ethics. Also, do not unto others what you would not have done to you by them.

Eating animals and dairy products is thus a criminal act when it is completely egoic act. As in non-essential for survival and overall well-being. It also statistically causes more health problems than a good plant-based diet, which adds a further toll on one's friends, family, colleagues, and the health care system.

I assume Zen's believe everything is already perfect, and some will then use that in escaping reality, responsibility, the social sacrifice, and the opportunity to be more compassionate in life, by their desire to savor the taste of dead corpses. Or is this a faulty assumption?
