Canada to send Ukraine 200 more armoured vehicles as Anand makes surprise visit to Kyiv

I would be curious to see the results of a nationwide vote on whether Canadian tax-payer money should continue to be sent to Ukraine to support them. Something tells me the result of that vote would be overwhelmingly to stop providing them aid.

Don't get me wrong, what's happening in Ukraine and to their people is terrible. But I feel like when Canadians themselves are struggling to make ends meet, going to foodbanks, etc. we should be prioritizing that first.

Remember, no taxation without representation. As Canadian citizens, is this use of tax-payer money representing the interests of the majority of our citizens?

As Canadian citizens, we agree to support our allies as per the NATO treaty. But Ukraine is not a NATO member. So where did the Canadian citizen agree to this? Will we show this same support to other countries in the future that face an invasion? Or are we only supporting Ukraine because they are a white European nation, that aligns with our vested interests?

These are important questions that Canadians have the right to ask as per the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We should have the right to decide where our tax dollars go.
