Did you think the staged complacency was real?

The government of Canada is letting this happen purposefully. They know 70% of the population is getting sick soon and this will be the fastest route through the upcoming recession.

I believe Canada’s leaders have taken the more pragmatic option to reduce economic harm. They seemed to be actively promoting infection. They want this outbreak to end quickly and since this disease will disproportionately affect boomers health, why risk the economy more than they have to?

It also doesn’t help that most boomers are conservatives in Canada and the PM is a Liberal. He won’t lose votes from the left over old white dudes dying. I am not saying its right. They should have tried to stop the vectors but this will give them plenty of excuse to borrow more money.
