Canada is warming and it’s irreversible. Why is it so hard to care?

Neither crashing into a wall at 60 km/h or 120 km/h is good for you. But one is far, FAR worse. The rate of warming can still be changed, as can the point at which global temperatures plateau. Investing in that is far, FAR cheaper than the damage which will come if we don't. The more money invested NOW into slowing the rate at which damage occurs, the longer we have to prepare and the less that damage will cost when it comes. Time is also a factor because every year you delay the damage from warming, the more time we have to either technologically eliminate forms of it or to reduce the impact. Whether that's efficient carbon capture (still a long ways off) or lab grown meat on a commercial scale starting to eliminate a huge amount of the output from agriculture.
