Canadian air traffic controllers send pizzas to U.S. counterparts working without pay

I’m curious to see what happens if the shutdown extends into the Super Bowl. That will be two missed pay periods by then, all while asking for some major work on ATC’s part to get tons of people into one of the busiest airports in the world.

When multi millionaires and billionaires are holding in the sky forever, forced to divert, or simply ground stopped and denied departure due to low staffing and high demand at Atlanta, how much pressure will fall on the government then.

Wouldn’t be surprising if an uncommon amount of people working suddenly fell ill. ATC has stayed professional, but everyone has their breaking point; especially when you are holding income hostage.

Hopefully not. I think this week will bring enough pressure and the government will open back up before the weekend. The threat it does not open always brings my mind into scary speculations though.
