Canadian government's proposed online harms legislation threatens our human rights

"Second, why do you feel censoring people would solve this issue?"

I didn't say it would, hence it being a vicious problem.

"You don't get to oppress others because of your tireless worrying, that's authoritarian bullshit."

I haven't argued in favour of this, so again I am not sure who you are speaking to. Second, I disagree with your characterization, obviously, as it is complete fucking bullshit.

"First of all, I'd like to see where you're getting any of this information from. "

There's is a tonne of research on this topic, and I implore you to go in search of it on academic research portals. I'm not going to do that for you as it would be ineffective because you aren't even listening to what I am saying.

"We've already seen how this type of content policing can actually hinder the pursuit of truth in how the covid lab leak theory was censored early on in the pandemic only to become a widely accepted possibility later on."

It is definitely not a widely accepted possibility within the academic community, so I think you haven't done much reading on this outside of those insular communities.

"Censoring people and ousting them from social media platforms doesn't change minds, it emboldens them. Try treating the people you disagree with like a human being and you might actually find some common ground."

You are literally ignoring what I am saying to pick a fight with nobody, but please tell me how treating people like humans helps?

"I'm saying people have the ability to block content or users already on social media and can report more extreme cases such as harassment or threats too."

So you aren't a free speech absolutist and would like commenting to be policed, but only based on what you see as dangerous and by private corporations? It seems hilariously clear that you actually support more censorship than I do and less oversight of aforesaid censorship than me, but somehow you are fighting against my "authoritarianism".
