Canadian judge rules dad can’t stop 14-year-old daughter from transitioning into boy

Why are people focusing on the father as a bad guy? We know nothing about him other than the fact that he's concerned about his kid.

The child is 14, has attempted suicide before, and the mother has used possible future suicide attempts as a driving force behind letting the teen transition. If there are suicide attempts, that tells me that there are deeper underlying mental issues with this kid, and that transitioning to a new gender isnt necessarily going to be the solution to their problems. As a father myself, i would be in the same boat, i would support my children to the ends of the earth, but if i knew there was something wrong with my child that requires therapy and deep analysis to prevent it from killing itself, you're damn right i would pursue all non physically invasive options first.

We know nothing about this family, their dynamic or this child's upbringing. For all we know the kid will transition, and end up being even more psychologically unstable.
