The usually caucasian, usually first or second generation immigrant to Australia who is usually obsessed with all things that are in no way foreign, except for the foreign things that they like. They usually wear flannel shirts, short shorts and flip flops, they quite often work in a trade or on the mines, they're vehemently opposed to communism or socialism, and very anti refugees and migrants, but typically very reliant on state welfare support very strongly pro union and very insistent that they aren't racist - even though they don't have any problem with white migrants. They tend to be very heavy users of alcohol and tobacco but very anti drugs. Except for weed and steroids... but only when it's someone they know using them. They tend to be very enthusiastic about mid range four door saloons, usually with a very strong preference toward a particular manufacture, pickups and motorbikes, almost none of which are made in Australia despite their loathing of all things foreign. Steroids, mullets, inappropriate relationships with their cousins, too many children (who are often both siblings and second cousins), enormous televisions, shitty beer, weed smoking, a gross lack of empathy for anyone who doesn't look like them, and a staggering ability to ignore the hypocrisy of their politics and actions are very common.
They're very enthusiastic about wars, but very reluctant to personally participate in them. Or personally contribute toward the tax coffers to fund them. And they tend to have very selective memories about Australia's military history and a very optimistic view regarding Australia's modern military capabilities.
They love Cricket, Rugby, going to the beach and Barbequing (but they're not very good at it really - which is probably the most offensive to bogans statement in this post). They're defined culturally by shows like Kath and Kim, Hey Dad, The Castle, Two Hands, and nightly faux news shows run by murdoch media interests that focus on how everything is terrible, and the fault of immigrants and the government.
They are unable to pronounce hard R sounds, or the generally anticipated third syllable of almost any word.
They're the spiritual cousins of Chavs who vote BNP or Alabama trump voters.
