It makes me hyper aware in social settings. The paranoia is real. You can become addicted to it the same way you become addicted to food or attention, and if you have an addictive personality those kinds of addictions are very very real. It also effects your sleep. When You smoke a lot you skip certain phases of sleep, and when you quit for long enough (a month or so for me) you start to have disturbingly vivid and memorable dreams as your body tries to play catch up. It also effects your consciousness even when you’re not actively high. Your thinking is just a bit hazy compared to when its completely out of your system. This is mostly anecdotal, but that’s been my experience. The benefits can easily outweigh the costs if you are using it for depression, anxiety, or pain management.
