Cannabis users show greater susceptibility to false memories

My opinion is that cannabis wasn't a positive in my life and isn't a positive in those friends who consumed it on a daily basis. What I don't get is the reaction of those trying to defend smoking cannabis as it being healthy for you. It isn't.

Then there is the ones who say, "Well it's better than alcohol!" as if you don't have a choice between the two. That is like shooting yourself in the leg with a 22 and then saying, "Hey, it's better than shooting myself in the leg with a 45!" You have another choice and that isn't to do either one and drinking a couple of beers or taking a couple of shots once in a while is going to have the same effect on your life as smoking a blunt... Little to very none. They are both 22's and you are firing them into the air. One of the bullets may come down and smack you on your ass but that is very unlikely. When you begin to abuse either drug on a consistent basis is when you've graduated to a 45 and starting to play Russian Roulette.

Smoke is smoke and if you're smoking cannabis you should expect the same results that you would get from smoking cigarettes. You are damaging your lungs. The reason you cough is that it is receptors in your lung trying to expel the dangerous substance before doing damage. Additionally, it is a mind altering substance that directly impacts the brain and like alcohol kills brain cells. You are not getting smarter or healthier smoking cannabis.

Does cannabis help for people who have severe diseases? Yes, but there situation is one of extremes where there life prognosis is already pretty screwed. Cannabis makes their life better but it is still a foreign substance that alters the body's natural chemistry. When you take medications you are basically trading damage to one part of your body (or spreading that damage out) to alleviate the symptoms / cure or reduce pain from another part. Chemotherapy for cancer is a prime example. You are destroying and killing cells throughout your body including Immune fighting cells that makes your risk of catching infections highly increased. In exchange for this you are hoping that the Chemotherapy will kill off the cancer cells faster than the regular cells.

Now, you are informed and if you choose to do damage to your body understand that there will be consequences.
