I CANNOT believe how good 'ANDOR' is.

The way the episodes are laid out is in 3 episode arcs, so if you want to complete one “part” of the story, you’ll want to watch at least the first 3 episodes. Though the story keeps building, and gets better as it goes so I’d say that if you can pay attention to the story it’s trying to tell and not just be waiting for or expecting Darth Vader to show up, or for a lightsaber fight to break out, then you should keep watching. It’s just not that kind of show, and–for most people at least–it’s all the better and more refreshing for it, but it shouldn’t feel like a slog. It’s great storytelling, and great TV, but it requires you as a viewer to keep your brain on, not just shut it off between action set pieces or times when characters are talking. It’s very much it’s own thing in the Star Wars universe, and doesn’t rely on callbacks or nostalgia. That seems to be turning off a limited part of the fandom, but I’m glad to see for the most part that people recognize it for what it is: some of the best (if not the best) most serious, well-written and produced, most explicitly anti-fascist piece of Star Wars that we’ve gotten so far. I was hooked from the outset, but that’s because it defied my expectations in the best possible way, which I welcomed because it’s so much better in every respect than the recent Star Wars we’ve been getting. If you’ve been content with the new Star Wars shows like the Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and to a lesser extend The Mandalorian, then maybe this show isn’t for you. It’s not as explicitly made for mass appeal like those other shows, but it’s what Star Wars desperately needs right now: purposeful and consequential storytelling.
