These "canon" esnings actually kinda upset me.

I understand you can't have F1 protagonist side with Master's army (or whatever happens, I didn't play 1 and 2) because that would doom everyone, and can't have stuff like siding with Elijah as canon because that's just flavor and way out there in terms of narrative, but the least that could be done is establishing ambiguity in other aspects. It's okay to have references to encounters that were unavoidable (like Vault Dweller stopping Master's plans), but bringing back a single version of completely optional and equaly valid paths is kinda disheartening, to a degree.

If hypothetically we were to see another game from Obsidian on Fallout (impossible, yes, but hypothetically), I'd be happy if no references to precise Future of New Vegas were given. Yes, people fought a battle at Hoover Dam, yes a mailman with brain damage was a key element in it. Did NCR win? Did Legion? Did House? Fuck if we know, it was long time ago/far away from here and is irrelevant at this point.
