Umm...and you aren't really making much sense. You're just throwing a lot of stuff out there.

And worst of all, you're just throwing a stereotype over all men, and that's the part I don't like.

The thread you are following here was me saying, "Why C'mon men?" My point is that it is not up to men to solve the problem women have in photojournalism, any more than it is the job of women to erase the advantage they have in family photography. You can ally your ass off- but it's not my job. I'm one of those 'we are not the same, but we are equal' people. Not a 'women must be exactly the same as men in every regard' people. Each gender has its advantages and disadvantages.

Furthermore, the problem isn't with MEN. The problem is with SOME men. In one of the other threads I replied to there was a black guy saying, "you guys think you have it bad...I'm black, and it's even worse."

Because this is all about stereotypes and prejudice.

If women are worried about men 'rightfully' because of crime statistics. Should they be MORE worried about black men? If you would like, I could link you to FBI statistics that will tell you some bad things. But you know what? I don't judge people by the categories they fit in...

"Sorry Mr. Black photographer, but your brethren is more apt to rape, so therefore I will play the odds and seek out an Asian female."

Do I understand the issue? Yes, I do. I deal with it all the time. So when women whine and cry about photojournalism being unfair and maybe...what...stereotyping...I just wonder if they are against stereotypes, or against the idea that they lose out on opportunities.

Because I am NOT a rapist. But treating me like I am one is what people do. So what kind of stereotype is keeping women out of photojournalism? Is it as damning as being treated like a rapist?
