Based. When I was in high school one of my best friends was from Iran. We were chilling one day at the mall, and his boss (a super Muslim Turkish guy) came up and said hi. My boy out of nowhere decided it would be funny to tell his boss I wanted to convert to Islam. Which was kinda funny, but also kinda fucked. Either way, the ball was already rolling.

Not only did this dude's face light up like a Christmas tree, but we had a cup of tea and he invited me to the masjid to learn to pray and stuff.

So I went to the masjid, did all that, then spoke to the imam who was pretty cool who gave me a tasbih I still have (think like a Muslim rosary), and was like, "Yeah! Come celebrate Ramadan with us!"

All I knew was they couldn't eat and that sounded like it sucked, so I was like o_O, why would I do that?

He was like, "Oh no habibi, we have loopholes." Homie pulls out out a chart for the whole month, with the exact second of sunrise and sundown, and explains to me they all get together and have a huge ass dinner every night. So here I am with probably just about every Muslim person in our town, trying to blend in even though it's obvious I don't, but it didn't matter. Everyone was super chill and friendly, even hung out with a few dudes I knew from school and had no clue they were Muslim, so it was no big deal and we all had a good time.

The food was epic even if I couldn't pronounce 90% of it, and there was more than enough that I literally lived that whole month on one meal a day.
