You can't hate nazis if you aren't a holocaust survivor

Reminds me that my great grandmother, who was the sweetest person to everyone, loved everyone, held no prejudice towards anyone, always took care of everybody and continued working for charity helping the refugees and elderly up until her death at 96.

She only ever spoke positively of the German Nazis.

Her family home was captured by the Soviets when she was a child, and she was essentially imprisoned in Russia as a kid, had her village members slaughtered, many women and children were raped, and she was forced to escape as a refugee to Finland.

Upon arrival to Finland, she found herself in a German camp that they had set up for refugees (Both Finland and Germany were at war with the Soviets at this time), and said it was she was given the kindest treatment and empathy by everyone there, and she finally knew/felt she was safe. One German man even took it upon himself to personally make sure no one bothers her or makes her uncomfortable, as she was a young preteen girl in a camp full of soliders.

Her takeaway from from was "those Germans were decent, weren't anything nearly as cruel as the Soviets".

Of course she never really learned about the Holocaust and all the other stuff that went on, but I found it kind of absurd/amusing that the loveliest person I know described German Nazi soliders as "decent people".
