i’m not sure if anyone else with an arguably less biased view has commented on it but jim hutton (who exchanged rings with freddie but obviously never officially married him because of the law) says in his autobiography that in his will, freddie left half of his estate to mary (his ex lover/the love of his life) who then proceeded to kick jim out of the home he’d shared with freddie for many years and kept his cats as her own - so he had to move back to ireland where he died in 2010, and had no clue where freddie had been buried or cremated as mary never told anyone. its easy to assume that mary would have felt a bit of jealousy even though they’d both moved on but yeah, jim could have felt equally jealous that freddie still regarded her as the love of his life.
