The way I see it.

Those specific subs are for collections. As in, show pieces. I'd say 90% of the items posted never see the light of day or a pocket in their lives. Those are the kinds of subs where you rarely see any wear from use or scratches from the daily grind.

EDC can have multiple terms, but a collection of items that you may carry ( not specifically all at the same time ) on a daily basis is definitely one of them. Many if not most people here have multiple carry items and rotate between them. I have tons of folding knives that get used and abused.

I think what you're after is /r/pocketdump... things that are in your pocket at this specific moment in time.
