I ::shock:: wouldn't know they were valid or not.. because I wasn't actually there..I get you points but not really divoeced men are seen as scumbags back then and even now without any knowledge about why the marriage broke up...(forgive me for my strong opinions my mom's a vocal feminist and we love to discuss these issues by me playing the devil's advocate since I firmly believe no problem can be solved without a discussion.) Also I feel the current problem is the same.. also not a great conversation starter by feeling defensive and making it a gender issue..... let's say for example .. if I was walking behind you in the middle of the night in nowhere would you be worried or threatened? I am not someone who would harm you .. but just the fact that it is a social stigma and I could most probably overpower you makes it a threat ..the same way I would be always worried that there is a plausible way you or a spouse could use domestic violence or false rape case not because you would .. I wouldn't know that unless you do but because if you do I will be labelled as a women beater and a rapist by the society forever .and even if I prove it false I would still be seen by most who stopped bothering to know after the initial accusation...... All in all all I want to say is ....Men made a mistake by undermining women and blaming them for all problems in the past and it did not work out .. please don't repeat our same mistake... Society needs both of us ::shock:: to treat each other respectfully..and be in this together.......

And in response to your love quote.. then why marriage? The whole idea of marriage is to have a family and kids etc ..your love isn't going to change either married or unmarried....so why marry for love ...for as far as I know marriage is a lifelong commitment... No matter what happens.. it's not just a use and throw if you find something better
