I can't look at Snapchat maps anymore

I have lived her for years - the city does not flood regularly. New Center Dr, Water St, and parts or River Road flood with high tide due to poor planning when constructing roads. This does not qualify as the entire city. The city is protected from storm surge by all of the barrier islands which have already been evacuated.

Most of the houses are reinforced because we are prone to these storms. There are a significant number of homes and buildings all over the city that are over a century old. Wilmington is not going to flood and the winds are not going to be that catastrophic. Most of Wilmington is not in a flood zone, check the noaa maps and arcgis at city website.yes, some areas will have standing water but that does not equate the entire city will be under water. I would be more concerned for place up the Cape Fear river and other rivers along the coast - that is where the water will travel and get stuck.
