Why can't your Group have nice things?

My 5e-Hombrew group can't have nice things because they fucking Metagame like no tomorrow. Combat's all about "you could go here" and "why didn't you go here instead of here?" crap. Looting is basically fucked, because anyone can take anything, and not have to share it. Normally, I'm completely cool with that, but after my character attempted to cheat once at a game of dice, got called out, and then lie about cheating, he's essentially the bane of the world or something, because he will be given nothing, if I'm to believe them. Recent occurrence:

  • My character, a Pyromancer, can upgrade his Pyromancy Flame, the item which gives him the ability to cast Pyromancies, via the soul of one of the bosses we killed. I don't have that soul. You know who does? The Wizard, and he's in the boat with the Paladin player (we'll get to him), that my character, who they don't know is NE, is NE. Because of that one attempted cheat and lie, I'm being vilified.

It feels like there's little roleplay happening, which sucks. There's even less roleplay when everyone seemingly hates your character for doing next to nothing (the game of dice didn't actually have much at stake, and originally only involved me and an NPC).

The biggest issue is my personal one with one player, who we shall name "That Guy". That Guy seems to think he's some master of the Power of Suggestion, subtly manipulating people into doing things he himself can't (because he's playing a NG character). The best "subtle" attempt I can recall is when he suggested that, if he wasn't an NG character, he would probably have stolen an item my character had, seemingly hinting towards our Rogue, who had stolen already from my character once prior. The most recent shit I took from him in general was when he went "Gee, if I was <my character>, I would have used <item my character has>," as we were fighting a giant tree monster, and the item adds Fire damage to a weapon. I just brushed it off as "<my character> wouldn't have been thinking about it in the moment." He, more than the others, is a terribly-aggravating person. He's also cocky to a very high degree.

All that said, I at least got my own character sheets that only myself and the DM can view, so no more snooping asshats...until the non-Good-aligned characters start looting my character while he is Unconscious. Yaaaaay...I love the campaign, and its setting, but the players are just horrid. Our backup characters are already coming into the game for some reason (seriously, don't ask, I don't have the faintest idea why backups are coexisting in the world as actual PCs), and I plan on switching to my NE Barbarian who just wants things. Hopefully, they'll hate me less...until my character wants something someone else does to. He likes things.
