Capitalism sucks sometimes but it’s kind of the best option.

You don't see how anyone could look at modern capitalism and be worried about the Uber wealthy using that wealth and power for their own gain at the expense of everyone else?

Oh yeah, I definitely can see this. I was phrasing my point in kind of an asshole way.

I think it's lazy to attribute your own beliefs to logic, but your opponents beliefs to psychology.

This is true though, it's not laziness. Saying "it's debatable whether capitalism is the best overall system" is exactly the same thing as, if not worse than, saying "it's debatable whether the climate is changing." Economists - there are actual economists who do this professionally - base their findings on hard facts and observations. They are scientists.

The statement "an economy will produce the most total goods if it has a capitalist system" is just a fact. That is not a political point. Now, you can say that socialism produces better outcomes philosophically or morally. But you cannot make the claim that it leads to better overall output - that is pseudoscience. That was my original point.
