The Caption Says It All

I’m a Jewish Israeli.
At 11th or 12th grade (depending on the school) the entire class will go to Poland on a week long trip centered around the holocaust.
We will would visit Jewish ghettos, memorials, camps, mass graves, old synagogues, etc. Despite the heavy subject, it is a fun trip. We could have a blast on the bus, tell jokes and sing songs, but as soon as we would arrive to our destination most people would immediately fall in order. The silence can be almost eerie.
It is also weird to see all of your teachers crying.

It is important to understand that many of the pupils have had close relatives who stayed in those camps. Many of them died in them as well. In Auswitz I had a classmate who requested to go to a specific cabin because his grandma (who survived the camps) implored him to take a picture with an Israeli flag in the cabin she used to sleep in.

Despite all of that, some assholes would pose exactly there. In the same spot in the picture. In the entrance of the largest death camp for some Facebook likes.
And I will add that before we go to the trip, we are also told exactly why not to do JUST THAT. and despite it, it still happens. Because the place is photogenic. Some people are just shallow idiots
