Car salesmen of reddit, what's the most outrageous thing anyone has done while out on a test drive?

That kind of judgementalism reminds of time my wife and I went to buy a car when we were young newlyweds.

Being young, and looking like we had no money, we were being ignored by all the salesmen as we walked around the dealership. I could not even flag someone down by waving. They would always need to look in another direction. Finally I literally cornered a salesman and said I wanted to take a particular used car for a test drive.

Clearly annoyed he got the keys and tossed them to me, then went on with more important business. When I brought the car back from our unaccompanied test drive he actually got mad at me for parking it in the wrong place.

The very next day I showed up to the dealership with my dad. He was only with me because he wanted to spend the day with me as I shopped for a car. We had not even stepped out of our vehicle when a salesman (different guy from the day before) was greeting us.

I ended up buying a used car that day. As I sat waiting for some paperwork to be one in the office upstairs, the salesman from the previous day came up to me and demanded to know why I didn't go to him since he had "helped me only yesterday".

I told him that I didn't remember him helping me the previous day (since he hadn't been very helpful at all), and told him that I didn't even remember ever meeting him. "I don't recognize you" I said. When he said that he was the guy who gave me the keys to the car I said "Oh, that was you? I didn't even know you were a salesman! I thought you were just a lot attendant there to brush the snow off the vehicles." He looked at me like he wanted to kill me, then stormed off.

I later found out that my denial of ever having dealt with him meant that he could not try and claim a part of the commission.
