Car salesmen of reddit, what's the most outrageous thing anyone has done while out on a test drive?

Car buyer here, not a dealer...My GF (now wife) and I went to a Nissan dealership because she wanted a new Xterra. We go the where I bought by 350z, had a decent experience there before, why not give it a shot? We get there and walk the lot, they have quite a few Xterras sitting there, all ready to be driven off the lot. OK cool, plenty of inventory, this should be easy. We wait, and wait and start walking around to find a salesman...nobody. It's a nice day, we're not dressed sloppily or anything. I get pissed and tell her we're leaving. We get in the car that's parked right in front of the dealership offices and I see one guy look out at us. As we left the lot I called the dealership and told them they just lost a sale and we're headed to another dealership now. The GM got my caller ID, called me back and kept asking us to come back and that he saw us leaver the lot and got pissed at his salespeople. I told him nope, nobody could get off of their asses when we were there, why would I go back? I tell him the other dealership we're headed to and it makes him beg us to come back. Nope again.

We pull into the other Nissan dealership about 15 minutes later, I get out of the car, a salesperson greets us as we close the car doors, the GM walks out and says "hey, I know you!". Ends up I knew the guy for a few years, great guy. The salesperson looks at my GF and says, ok, just pick one out, you're going to get a great deal since he know him. We proceed to tell them about the other dealership and it ends up that the salesperson's cousin worked there. She was so happy to hear about it and that she got the sale and she was having dinner with her cousin that night and she was going to rub it in. They let us drive off with a Pathfinder and an Xterra to see which we wanted. We chose the Xterra, they upgraded the wheels, threw in tons of extras for free and that was that, amazing service.

Apparently the other dealership used our story for their training meetings from then on, how to not make a sale. Glad we could help.
