Career (airline, logistics, skilled labor, new to Canada) what to do?

Westjet posts jobs pubically that are internal hires all the time.

Saves the crying and finger pointing when someone gets their undies in a twist over someone else getting promotions when job positions were not posted.

17 years in that company myself. Its going to be impossible to get in for the forseeable future. They have about 12000 employees on the side lines that all get priority in rehire. Not to mention the several thousand out of those on wage subsity. Thats a investment in someone and they will want a return on that investment ASAP. They are fighting to retrain highly qualified and skilled employees before they do the opposite of the OP and take off for other countries and carriers.
