It sounds like the officers involved here handled themselves well, but that is not always the case if the police think you are mentally ill. The horror stories I have heard. Most suicidal people would like a peaceful death, you don't get that at the hands of law enforcement.

Do some checking to see if you will wind up with a "record". You might not. Don't add that to your list of worries. (I think you would have had to have been diagnosed and then formally admitted for a period of time before this incident was officially recorded as an 'involuntary admission' to a psych ward.)
