I am Australian, those are Australian sizes which differ from the US.

My point is that you're blaming the obesity, anecdotally, on smart phones when the trend was in place long before smartphones existed.

My point is that we did have a problem pre smart phones with obesity but there was no middle ground. People were either a healthy weight or morbily obese.

But as soon as smart phones came along people who otherwise would be active or kept a healthy weight become..fat.

You sound like an addict defending his drug. Its pretty sad and pathetic the lengths people go to defend their horrible health choices. Smart media addiction will have the same health consequences as what we consider really unhealthy these days, like smoking. 14 hours a day of using smart phones with being inactive is not only taxing on the body but also on the mind.

Those who work in IT go two ways, either skeletal from a lack of eating (usually developers who spend all the time buried in headphones coding and living on just a diet of corn flakes) OR really chubby people who go eat a calorie rich burger for lunch and spend the rest of the day on their arse staring at their screens. The only time they get exercise is on the way to work but then spend the rest of the night again on their arses staring at their devices doing whatever.

And its only getting to get worst as smart phones now rule peoples lives.
