I love how some Carrot haters are coming out again. Look at the latest chapter discussion when people found out that Yamato didn't join and are now shitting on the arc for "bad writing".

I was very disappointed that it seemed Carrot wasn't joining, but I was ok with Yamato because they are both awesome characters. Now if the next chapters will confirm Carrot really snuck on the ship, that would be even more badass. I also doubt they would just part without saying anything after all those years, showing a short flashback wouldn't do. Yeah I am convinced she will join now, maybe the straw hats will act like she was part of the crew from the beginning when they find her on the ship, kind of like Usopp at first.
