I was simply saying that you can resolve it by headcanoning it that the ELI5 nature is due to the unintentional patronising of an older man no longer as relevant in his field who is eager to impress the extremely attractive young woman alongside him who he assumed was ignorant (or at least more ignorant than the reality), a phenomenon colloquially called “mansplaining”.

I don’t remember the details enough as to the lead up, possibly Eva may even have “feigned ignorance” to draw him into conversation, but either way the motivation for the exposition it can be explained as being for his benefit to feel important by providing her the information rather than because she actually needed it.
